We are now looking for an engaged support assistant for one of our group homes within functional support. Your tasks

As a support assistant, you work directly with clients who may have intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric diagnoses, different interests, and varying ages. The focus of your work with clients is to support and create a daily life that provides the individual with a meaningful, manageable, and comprehensible existence.

The approach towards clients is based on a low-arousal response where the focus is on creating value by meeting the individual in a professional manner, communicating with respect for the client's self-determination and personal integrity, and working with clarifying pedagogy.

About you

We are looking for someone with relevant education as a support assistant. It is an advantage if you have training in Independent Living (ESL), Motivational Interviewing (MI), PERMA, and low-arousal response.

You take great responsibility for your own and the shared tasks with the best interests of the organization and clients in focus. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. In your work, you are used to taking great responsibility, distinguishing between the personal and professional, and adapting your approach to the situation. You can discuss reflectively with your colleagues and other professionals you collaborate with to create a common approach based on each situation.

The new social services act means that businesses such as functional support and social psychiatry face many new challenges where you as a support educator play a significant role alongside colleagues. Working preventively, promoting health, and always having the client's needs at the center are important factors for you as a candidate. We are looking for someone who has a great ability to be flexible regarding tasks, working hours, and changes in the organization.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and consider what is best for the work group during recruitment.

In Orust municipality, we apply full-time as the norm, which means you will receive a full-time position. This may mean that you as an employee will have to do resource shifts in other units than the one you are hired for.

Working hours/duration: Full-time, permanent
